Our elementary curriculum builds on the biblical foundation laid for kids in preschool. We want elementary kids to see the excellent character of our all-powerful God and why He is the hero of every story. We do that by looking at 36 godly character traits – one per month – with weekly Finish Lines that teach kids about God, His Word, and how He can help us reflect His character to the world.
Our character trait for November is THANKFULNESS! Check out the Monthly Overview for a snapshot of everything we will be learning about this month.

Use these activities to keep talking about and applying what you learned this weekend throughout the week.
Teacher: Meal Time
Review the hand motions for the Conquest, Judges, and Kingdom eras. Ask your kids if they have a favorite story from each of these eras. What do they like about those stories? What do the stories teach us about God? Is there any way that this story connects to the New Testament and what Jesus has done for us? *(Examples: In the Kingdom era God promised David that someday, someone from his family would rule forever and rescue His people. In the New Testament, we learn that Jesus is that promised Savior.) *
Friend: Drive Time
Spend time in the car this week reviewing the whole Bible Timeline. If it helps, print off a copy of the Bible Timeline to keep in your car. Refer to this when you have down time on a drive to go over the names and order of the eras, the icon for each one, and hand motions. Make a game out of it! For example, call out an era and the first one to do the correct hand motion wins the round. Describe an era’s icon and see if your kiddo can guess which era it belongs to (Example: a blue flag = Conquest era). As we continue learning about each era of the Timeline this year, add to what you’re reviewing by talking about which era a Bible story belongs to.
Counselor: Bedtime
Thank God for being the same God in both the Old and New Testaments. Thank Him for being faithful to always keep His promises and do what He says He will do. Spend time praising Him and thanking Him for how you have seen Him keep His promises in your life.
Coach: Anytime
Print off the Bible Timeline flash cards and use them to review what your child learned in our elementary ministries this past weekend. Shuffle the cards and see how fast you can put them in order using the side with pictures. Then try by just using the descriptions. Print two copies and make it a matching game. As a family, come up with your own game that can help you review!

Father, thank you for always keeping your word. Please help me remember that your promises are true and that your faithfulness is everlasting.
