Meet Jelani

I was born and raised in Collin County, Texas, where sports was the most well-known religion. I showed up faithfully on my night of worship, shouted plenty of praises and made plenty of prayers for some god out there to hear me. The true God of the universe allowed me to continue my plans for athletics in college where I competed for four years on the track and field team at Abilene Christian University. It was through relationships with people I met in my time there that the Lord made Himself known to me. My praises and prayers are now made in Jesus’ name and He has moved my life in ways that I could have never imagined. By His grace, I am now the husband to Jenna Rainey, and we are raising our kids in South Dallas with our church community. After almost 8 years in commercial real estate, the Lord opened the door in 2023 for me to more intimately serve our young church. It has been incredible to witness the life transformations that have taken place since the South Dallas church started in 2021.
