I am a born & raised Texas girl with Middle Eastern roots! My parents are originally from Iraq and came to the states in their early 20’s. Being a first generation American, my world growing up was very multicultural and bilingual!
In 2007, my dad became the pastor of a small Arabic speaking church here in Dallas! Week after week, I was taught stories about who God is. At 7 years old, I accepted Jesus into my heart. In that moment, I understood that I was being saved from hell, but I did not realize that I was also saved into a beautiful relationship with the Father!
Because I didn’t have a full understanding of my new identity, I operated as I did before Christ for most of middle and high school. I found my worth in relationships, status, and my appearance. It wasn’t until the world shut down, and it was just me and God, that I realized the beauty of the Gospel. It was like everything was illuminated and clicked for the first time!
Ever since then, my life has never been the same! I went to off to college at Dallas Baptist University (Go Pats!!!) and met my very best friends & my husband, Mateo! At the end of my freshman year, I became a member at Watermark and have been here ever since!
Following graduation, I worked for a corporate company, but regularly wrestled with the nudge to take my giftings to ministry. After much prayer and very clear open doors, the Lord led me to work Watermark!
I am so thankful for the opportunity to serve the Lord and others through my job!
